Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar, who is gearing up for his 6th World Cup campaign has said that, he has never taken anything for granted in life and always depended on his hard work.

Tendulkar was present on this week’s ICC Cricket World Radio Show where he said, “I treasure each and every moment as I have not taken anything for granted. I have worked hard for everything I have achieved and will continue to do so. I’m just very happy, excited and extremely thankful to the Almighty”.

In his career spanning over 20 years, he has played five cricket World Cups scoring most runs [1,796 at a staggering average of 59.87] including 4 centuries & 13 fifties with a best score of 152* against Namibia in 2003 world cup.

Tendulkar also said, “I’m very fortunate to have played in five World Cups so far. God has been very kind to me to have given me good health and with that fair amount of runs. I’m very happy and very grateful with whatever has come my way”.

However, Tendulkar will become only second cricketer after Pakistan’s Javed Miandad to feature in 6 World Cups campaigns.
