He said “My biggest influence has been my father. He has left a huge impact on my life. As a child I learnt a lot just by observing him. The culture and values of my family have made me what I am,”

His father demise during the world cup 1999 made him to rush back India to be with his family during one of the toughest phases of his life.

He added “It was the most difficult moment of my life. I came back from England midway through the World Cup. But my mom, wife, brother, everybody told me that my father would have wanted me to go back and play and so I did,”

Sachin also added how cricket has helped him to grow to this level and also expressed about his coach Ramakant Achrekar’s pivotal role in shaping him of what he is today.

Sachin remembered how his coach used to make him bat by placing the coins on the stumps. Sachin described those coins helped him to value his wicket from that tender age itself.

He further added “Those coins are gold medals for me. It was a huge challenge for me to survive when he used to make me bat after playing the whole day. He used to place coins on stumps and I had to survive with around 40-50 fielders around”

“Any one caught the ball and I was out, so I had to play carefully. At that time I was feeling tired but today when I look back I realize how those things made me what I am,”

This wonder boy who was brought up in a middle class family and continued to grow from one level to the other with the same values and culture provided by their family is made him what he is today.
