Tendulkar deserves a World Cup – Danny Morrison

| July 16, 2010 | 2 Comments

The former Kisi fast bowler and now turned commentator, Danny Morrison has said Sachin Tendulkar deserves a World Cup triumph under his name but players like Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni need to support the batting maestro to realise his dream in World Cup 2011.

Morrison at a cricket show told, “Sachin Tendulkar, the master, deserves to have some sort of winners’ medal hanging round his neck but it’s not all about him. Cricket is a tough game and it’s also about whether Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and MS Dhoni can deliver for India. Can they do it for Sachin?,”.

Tendulkar has already told lot of times that winning World Cup is certainly still an unfulfilled dream and he would love to win it for his country. India will co-host the 2011 world cup along with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in February-March.

Morrison has also tipped India to be one of the favorites to win the next World Cup, “I think India has the best opportunity to lift the World Cup this time round. It has to be good for them playing on home turf. It adds pressure but that’s part of hosting.”

“You feel that India want something special to happen and this year I think you’ve got to go with the India team to emulate the 1983 side led by Kapil Dev,”, he further added.
