Mohammad Amir – From New Superstar to Yet Another Scum Bag
Every new controversy with the Pakistan cricket team will be termed as the new low, but it happens regularly. Anyone with cricket knowledge always knew that match fixing and spot fixing happened, especially with the Pakisthan team, and instead of acknowledging that people and commentators termed Pakistan team as mere UNPREDICTABLEs.
Wasim Akram is easily one of the all-time best fast bowler, despite being caught red handed he continued to play (Qyaam later said that he was lenient with Akram as he was the greatest bowler then). The commoners rejected the idea that akram fixed matches, and it was just some conspiracy and Wasim continued to be the biggest star of modern Pakistan cricket. However this time Mohammad Amir was caught with video proof and by one of the world’s leading media. Now the common fan cannot console himself by considering this as a conspiracy and continue to support him.
This is not the first incident where Mohammad Amir was found guilty. In the Asia cup match, despite one of the best knocks in ODI by Afridi, Pakistan lost the match thanks to Amir. When Afridi was at crease Pakistan was at 205 for 6 with 38 runs to win from 9.2 overs. Mohammad Amir was the next man in, and Afridi was suffering with lot of cramps and Mohammad Amir got a phone call.
A player is not allowed to attend phone calls while the match is happening, but this was photographed, but the Pak team dismissed this. They said that he was merely adjusting the grill of his helmet, but the picture clearly shows that he was talking to someone. Everyone know what followed, Amir went in to bat, used up lot of balls, tried hard to get himself out and finally succeeded.
Investigation went in to this incident, but PCB as usual wiped the slate clean so that Amir can become the next Superstar.
He could have been a real Superstar, with age in his side he would have become Sachin Tendulkar of bowling. The Pakistan fans’ biggest disappointment is Amir’s role, a country like Pakistan needs hope, and they always took inspiration from cricket. It might sound ridiculous, but that is how a country in trouble often comes out of it. It happened to the US, England and lot of countries, during the great economic depression Major League Baseball was the only happiness for people. It gave them hope and helped them get out of the rut. Sports for decades helped a community to come out of distress. Pakistan cricket instead of helping the people in turmoil is just adding to the misery.
Amir’s if banned for life will be a jolt for Pakistan team’s progress, but Pakistan is a land full of talent and new Amirs and Asifs will come out of nowhere to play for Pak. The question here is, “Do they need another Amir or someone with lesser talent and greater virtues”?

Whenever we think someone could be the next Tendulkar, he fails at that very moment.
Earlier it was Akmal who was said to be the next Tendulkar by Mr. Tharoor, now look where does he stand.
No one come anywhere close to Sachin. Period
After his match winning innings against England, Raina was suppsed to be the left handed Tendulkar. I can’t understand why people compare anybody with Tendulkar.
@Girish
Reason is pretty simple dude, one gets compared or eye the benchmark. All look up to the sky, reaching or not reaching again depends upon oneself.
